Something about this movie seemed off compared to the other two. Every time I saw the trailer I got an odd feeling about it.

I don't think it was intended as racist. The apes are supposed to be group that was oppressed and then fought back. In their weird CAC reasoning, the white and mostly liberals behind Hollywood decided to connect the oppressed apes to a real world oppressed group. Since the apes are the heroes in this series, maybe the whites thought it was a good thing.

I never took it as the apes being heroes.
I get what you're saying, but I felt like the movie creators were just smart enough creep along the grey area between good and bad when it came to the apes. But I don't wanna get to deep. THIS blue vest shyt is wild.

That blue vest stands out loudly on this color pallete for the poster.
Then seeing "Monkey Killer" and "The Only Good Ape is a Dead Ape", this shyt is sickening.
