If yall travel to other cities or parts of the world you begin to realize what the problem really is: public spending.

The NYC subway system is in dire need of modernizing.
The government isn't spending enough on education.
The medicine that keeps some of these people in check, is too expensive because of no govt subsidized medical system.

Charities are expected to do the brunt of the work in terms of rehabilitating addicts or housing the mentally unstable and addicts.

The answer is simple.
1.Subsidized medical care.
2.Subsidized mental health and drug addiction housing with counselors on site and doctors etc. To supervise these people in their recovery.
3.A new gate system since anyone can jump a turnstile
4. Tighter security at stations, and on public transit.

All of this is achievable. The problem is that the government would much rather hoard most of the tax revenue for themselves and give their friends in wall street tax breaks in exchange for a job or position on the board of a billion dollar company.

Bro i feel you and i truly empathize with the homeless/crazy. I always tell myself, either they didnt have a say for thier circumstances or thier life is so much harder than mine so i cant be too mad.

But if they come at me sides ways, knuckles will be involved. Not because of lack of self control, but i cant tolerate disrespect on any level.

For my sanity i drive at least once a week to the city where i got a parking spot and take a quick train ride to time square, which is another set of monstrosity.

I have a crazy story when I was in college riding the train in Philly.

I'll find the post if anyone wants to see it...

Yeah mentally ill panhandlers are a big issue in all major cities and the governments don't really do anything about it. Out here in DC, these folks will walk up to your car at a red light and tap on your window, try to stare you down to roll it down. Can't even walk down the street into a store without someone asking you for money. It becomes a burden on working class people who ain't rich their damn selves. nikkas don't got cash to give out every day.

The ones during rush hour who go from car to car giving their life story begging for money make me sad.

They clearly have enough will and determination to do that, but probably don’t have clothes to go on a job interview.

The ones who sleep on the church steps are sad too.

There used to be a guy that sat on 5th ave down the street from SAKS with 2 cats.

And there was a guy on the Cross Bronx going from car to car with a cat.

:mjcry:

But it’s not like the cats needed them. Somebody will always feed cats.
