No one making classics anymore :wow:

Co sign :to:

The problem is that I believe that it is one of the few times where people in the industry thought that she was gaining too much influence on young girls, so they promoted that nasty azz Lil Kim and Foxys to keep them whore minded.

And Lauryn is a better MC than Lil Kim or Foxy can ever be by subject matter and musical taste alone. She deserves to be considered top 3 female MC of all time.

Perfect album, like The Blueprint. :ohlawd:

and that album got more sales than the likes of any of the female MCs before it, and afterwards. Everyone from every walk of life loved that album. Again, it was too damn influential and people rather hear the sex talk from Lil Kim.

Lauryn was a genuine artist. She not only had the skill and the talent to justify her fame, she had the "right stuff," the right kind of artist's sense of seeing the world that had her creating one classic after another.

That was the last time a female dropped a classic album IMO

I think this album was ahead of it's time, i think the bytches today could benefit from the game Lauryn was droppin'

Damn shame for a broad that came off very intelligent in her music, she was fukking up in her personal life.

It was good, I won't say great. But a lot of that had to do with her not doing a mic check with the AV crew beforehand. I think had she better prepared, the whole audience would have appreciated it more. I was drunk as shyt so it was still really good either way.
How was her performance though?

I hate to be the one to ask because it sounds so damn corny: Does this thread prove that deep down we're all still receptive to someone like her? As in, we're not all as jaded as other threads might make people think?

Damn shame that we only got Nicki Minaj who represents the polar opposite of what she is, with a fraction of the skill and none of the heart. Talent like Lauryn comes once in a generation, and her personal problems and the industry shut her voice up. And people say music does not influence people's emotions.
