Usually all the threads are rehashed Fox stories about some supposed problem with Obama or Hillary, and usually any major news story that's a bad look for conservatives is conspicuously absent, though they occasionally put up a "Guys, how are we dealing with this?" thread to discuss the latest Republican kid fukker. Those threads often have a *Conservatives Only!!!* label on them, which I find hilarious. But today the sidebar image caught my attention. Usually they have quotes from real old conservative philosophers or economists, but this time it was a young guy from the internet. Here is the relevant pinned thread they had on him:

Andrew Torba has seen first hand the rising censorship on the Internet. After various accounts were being limited and banned from Twitter/Facebook, he set out to create his own free speech network. The result was Gab. After which, he has experienced the network application itself being banned from iOS App Store, Google Play, and even had the website's domain name pulled off the internet.

To hear more about Andrew's story, from which the quote was chosen, watch or read the full transcript of the speech he gave at the David Horowitz Freedom Center's 2017 Restoration Weekend:

I saw the censorship continuing to rise. I saw conservatives being completely blacklisted from the Internet, shut up and censored, and had their reach decline over time, and I decided to step up and do something about it. And, I think conservatives would love to complain about the bias in media, but nobody ever actually stands up and does something about it.

...

And if we don't do something, if we don't prevent this censorship from happening, if we don't prevent these centralized gatekeepers from cracking down and deciding who can speak freely, who can build on the open internet, or at least what I thought was the open internet, then very bad things are going to happen.
:patrice:I've seen this same sentiment from Trumpset. They're convinced Higher Learning is a liberal circle-jerk and conservatives are instantly banned. We all know that's not true, but they keep repeating it, so I'm interested in peoples' thoughts on this. What conservative has been "completely blacklisted" from the internet? I honestly cannot name one. People get kicked off Twitter for breaking the rules, but there's still Nazis all over that site. Reddit too, of course.

He also had this quote, which is hilarious:

They are not going to allow President Trump to utilize social media
:heh:The Joint Chiefs of Staff can't make Trump stop using social media.

Conservatives want to be the victims and the bullies at the same time. Even on here. The most prominent conservative poster on this board lost his mod position and had dozens of people vote to ban him, yet he's still here.

Conservative trolls get banned and unbanned all the time, and they keep popping up.

They have a persecution complex despite getting catered to on the regular in real life. How often do Dems talk about trying to get conservative voters to switch sides by playing the middle of the road?

shyt, even outside of politics you see decisions made to bring in conservatives. NFL trying to clamp down nonviolent protests? Lack of diversity in mainstream productions? That's not for liberals.

Whats the story with dead7 being demodded?

I was the only one against dead7 from the start. The man didn't post anything that wasnt a smiley for like a year :mjlol:

Reddit is a top 3 global website. There's too many shills, bots, and trolls now. I can't figure out who is who anymore.

there is a shred of truth to it

Higher Learning and Know the Ledge before have always been very polarized

if you go to other conservative forums like hannity youll see the same dynamic just in reverse

political discussions just always seem to end up in an us vs them debate with the only thing mattering is who wins or loses

:francis: I think many of the moderate people who lurk and are silent need to take back these discussions and be the arbitrators we used to be. In the last 10 years the internet has slowly become a platform for extremists

and you know why? its because those with extreme views are often unintelligent and generally uninformed about multiple perspectives. Intelligent moderate people need to be more visible so the rest of the country wakes up and remembers who actually runs the place

He made a comment during the Charlottesville protests that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way (he said he was just joking). I actually don't mind him as a poster since he usually keeps things civil and he can bring an interesting POV. But to say this place is an echo chamber just isn't true.

This forum is a liberal circle jerk.

I'm not a Republican, or alt-right but because I don't agree with the Dem platform at times have mercy the amount of people on here who will call you a russian troll or call you alt-right as a way to censor you.

It shouldn't be the case but it is.

I'm a moderate and i do just that on here.

It's hard though because of all the censorship.
