the thing is "good rapping" is subjective, you dudes are arguing that point when my original point was the rappers i mentioned stick with straight spittin and don't do the sing-songy auto-tuned type shyt

that was the premise of this thread but i appreciate y'all for at least engaging in open hip hop discussion rather than running with the gay innuendos like a lot of these posters in here
While I do agree that "good" or "bad" when it comes to music is subjective I don't think its totally down to opinion when someone is trying to achieve more with their writing.

Juicy j and rappers of his ilk are often decidedly basic and I don't think Q quite falls into that camp.

Underneath the vulgarity and ugliness is quite a bit of wit which is why I found myself impressed with BFLP.

Think what you like.
Employing more literary devices or using
more complex rhythms in your flows isn't "subjective", it is, what it is and certainly isn't basic.

Or in more musical terms a pentatonic scale has 5 notes, the diatonic scale has 7. A song using more notes doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be better but there will objectively be more going on.
