Because the powers at be (white execs) want c00nery. Look at Vh1, look at the black reality shows on there. Fake fighting, violent females, materialistic black women, nikkas who can't speak properly etc.

I honestly don't know what happened after the mid 2000s, black shows just got worse and worse. Like somebody else said I think it went from shows with a black cast, to black shows. Martin had black writers, I believe Fresh Prince and Living Single did too.

Personally, I think the only way we can have that glory back is by employing black people to bring life to our stories. Y'all really gon put ya trust into white people and hope they accurately and positively show us on television? :usure:I mean really, you gon have white writers for a show about blacks living in Chicago or something? We need more black writers in the business, right now the only ones I can think about are Shonda Rhimes and Mara Brock Akil smh. I wish Wyatt Cenac was more visible than them though, he's fantastic.

If some of the shows ya'll loved in the 90's came on today, nikkas on here would shyt on them too. Especially living single, no way a show with all those black women dealing with relationship issues would get love on here in 2013.

The women on Living Single weren't annoying, i can't say that about most women on shows today.

i think the type of people who watch these shows are the type of people who will limit themselves to one type of music.

for instance, like some lady who refuses to listen to anything but gospel :ld:

You def have a good point.

Mr. Box Office has such a talented cast, but the writing on it is :scusthov:

That Rickey Smiley show is a little dry outside of him dressing up as all those characters. The drag tho. :snoop:

I haven't seen Love Thy Neighbor, but the promos for it were cringeworthy.

I think it had a good dynamic though, like between black men and women. Plus, if you think about it, Friends completely ripped off Living Single and it premiered a whole year after it. Living Single was about single young black folk livin in Brooklyn, and Friends was about single young white folk livin in Manhattan.
