Do for Love, one of Pacs best:wow:

I do think we may have been robbed of the full vision by not getting a proper video, and who knows what else what else Pac would've done with it....Ive always been confused about who's perspective the last verse is from,is it from the new guy who the girl was cheating with?or the original sucka? Could the last verse have been meant to be a male/female back in forth:jbhmm:?

Its still great regardless of how you interpret it:banderas:?But I do feel a certain incompleteness, and what ifs:mjcry:?

imo, the best ever hip hop love song is "Bonita Applebum", even though it's not really a 'love' song like that.

Love songs are great . . high stratosphere of songwriting . . but I've always found the God-Tier of songwriting usually revolves around social commentary or life experience . . there's a higher ascension of maturity required to write songs like

Nat King Cole - "Smile"
Louis Armstrong - "What a Beautiful World"
John Lennon - "Imagine"
Tupac - "Changes"
Bob Dylan - "The Times They Are Changing"

It seems like this thread is turning into a running consensus. I'm a bit surprised.More than one of you have even called "Do For Love" your favorite song, or the GOAT hip-hop song. "The Light" has a position in the culture where it'll even get a noticeable reaction from an audience when the DJ drops it before a hip-hop show. I would like to see a DJ competent enough to drop both of these songs right next to each other. There's obvious parallels
