Nah. I remember reading interviews around that time with Jay. They started as a group album but it became a Jay album .

Either label pressure to market it as a Jay album or Jay ego the reason.

The Dynasty album started out as a compilation but they decided to market it at the last minute. If I remember, the reasoning was it would sell more if it was labeled a Jay album
