Sonic 1,2,3 and Sonic & Knucles go toe to toe with Mario 3 and Super Mario World IMO

I don't like how nikkas try to sell Sonic cheap like he wasn't fukking with Mario back in the day. In fact I know alot of nikkas that preferred Sonic back then. Those first 4 Sonic games can go toe to toe with the best 2d Mario games IMO.


I wouldn't even be mad if a nikka said Sonic 2 >>> any 2D Mario Game


and to keep it completely 100, Sonic Adventure is just as good as Mario 64.


and Sonic Generations is just as good as The Mario Galaxy series.

I enjoyed both those games but Mario lacked swag b.

Super Mario World in my opinion was Mario's peak, and honestly it hasn't been downhill from there but the Mario games that followed after that couldn't live up to this. With the Exception of Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros but those are a whole different genre

It's not. Outside of the Sonic/Shadow levels the rest of the game is trash.


All that being said, the Genesis Sonic games (and Sonic CD) are most certainly as good as the best Mario games. I probably prefer those Sonic games. Sonic was that dude back then.

I'm a little bias since i had the genesis and never had super nintendo; but the first 4 sonic games were def classics. Plus thos games prob had the best music in the 16 bit era. I gotta say who ever thought of sonic 3 and interrogating that game with sonic and knuckles was a genius. There are so many pathways through sonic and knuckles; plus when u start combining games it basically gives you several new levels.
