I turn OFF my console everytime....

That's what I usually do. I can't risk a power surge, blackout, or random thunder storm clapping my system.

I leave mine in standby. Have it hooked up to a surge protector. If it dies, it dies

Remote play, down loading updates, remotely downloading games to the system and now suspend resume will make the risk worth it IMO.
