I am a very avid fan of Playstation, I first created my account with them the day the Sony Playstation 3 was released. I was able to create the user ID that was an animal name with no numbers or anything else like the word cow but not that name. I have had this account since 2006 with no issue and I have spent THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars in digital content.

Last week I received a phone call from a random phone number with a 404 area code. The person told me that they worked for Sony and needed to verify the Email address associated with the account “****”. I knew Sony would never call and do this so I hung up the phone. They called back several more times and I blocked the phone number on my phone. Cut to a few days later I started getting a whole bunch of emails from random accounts I haven’t used in years trying to reset my passwords. I also received an email from Sony asking if my case was resolved. I knew something was up because I never called them for anything so I immediately called Sony and expressed my concern and they told me I had nothing to worry about. I changed all the passwords with as many accounts as I could think of and went to bed. That night I woke up as I work third shift and had emails telling me that the email associated with my account had been changed. Sony’s customer service was not open at this time so I went to work. I was super hot and could not figure out what to do, so I called the 404 number at about 4 in the morning. A lady answered I explained the situation and she had no clue what was going on and was clearly asleep. I told her I was going to press charges and she said do as you must. About a half an hour after that I started receiving text from a 330 area code saying "I am sorry sir I was the one who hacked your account. I can help you get you get your account back." They gave me the Email that they changed the account to. They asked me what the password should be and I made up a new password and gave it to them and they fixed it. I was able to access my account at that time and I Immediately changed the email and password once again. Once Sony Customer service opened I called them and Explained what had happened. They told me to change the password and email and I did again.

That night I woke up and my account was yet again hacked. There is no way they could have gotten the password or email that I changed because they were both new and hard. I then called Sony on Saturday October 3rd and explained what had happened again. I spent all day on the phone with Sony trying to get my account back. They changed my account back once I gave them the first four and last four numbers of my credit card I had used on my account. I then changed the email to my wife’s email and changed the password to a brand new hard one. About 10 minutes after I took the account back I realized the person had deleted all of my friends and changed the info to a different persons name. Also they added a whole bunch of people to the friends list with singular names like “Kitten” and “Herro” Also I received a message from a user named saying “you need to stop talking we know where you live and know where you work and we will get you fired.” About 45 minutes later the account was then taken back over by the hacker. I then called Sony once again and they would not let me change the account back into my name. They said the account was flagged and the only way i could change it yet again was to get a confirmation email to the original email the account was set up with and the serial number from the original PS3 used to make the account. The problem was the original email address I used on the account was my old college email that no longer exist. I called my college and there is no way to recover it. Nor did I have the original Playstation 3 I created the account with because I had replaced it about five years ago with a new Playstation 3. THEY BANNED MY ACCOUNT! They told me it was my fault for not securing my account and I had broken terms of service.

I am physically sick over this as I LOVE Playstation and have been a fan since Playstation 1. I looked forward to every Tuesday (update day) and I bought games every week! If I knew the having the User name “****” would have created such a problem I would have never done it in 2006! I waited three days outside of a target for my Playstation 3 and 24 hours in a walmart for my Playstation 4. I am 29 years old and have no reason to game share or anything like that. Nobody has access to my Playstation other than me and my wife. I have no kids or anything like that. I honestly don’t know what else to do. I just want my account and all of my digital content back. I own two Playstation 3’s, one PS4, a Vita, and Playstation TV.

I am begging for any help, I can possibly get. If Sony just looks at the IP addresses or phone number or names on the account they will see that it was the same for almost 9 years. They have to see that this I my account! I have made a police report and filed a claim with the BBB. I have a Sony Playstation capital one card as well. I have credit card statements showing all I have spent. I have also field a police report with my local police department. Any advice would help and thank you for reading.

his story does sound overly convoluted, to the point where he might be hiding something. like I said, people on reddit seem to think it might be a key-logger, but if that's the case, what would be the point of the phone calls and such? something doesn't add up...

Its so convoluted I actually do believe it :dead:

But when an account goes through that many changes it will always get flagged and locked by protocol,well at least any business I have worked at. Im surentheres a full investigation into it :yeshrug:

But like you said theres something off about it and people often lie or tell half truths to shift blame away from themselves
