Originally MARVEL sold it then with a clause stating that the rights would revert back to the original owner in the future if no films are made...

I mean I get it, but Sony just started to right the ship by putting Spidey in the MCU now they gonna take him out of the dealings because they don't want to give up half the profits off a character that they never even made in the first place... watch the next batch of Spiderman movies WITHOUT the Disney deal be trash I'm talking Spiderman 3 levels of trash...

Wasn't marvel/disney footing the bill anyway for these movies with sony getting a cut?

I swear the original set up was that part of the deal marvel would foot the bill or most of it for the production and then after marvel gets its investment back. After that sony and marvel get the splits they agreed on.
