Not true at all. Depending on which headset you have, you will have limited functionality

they said legacy devices may work in the future whereas the Xbox one will not support older headsets period due to different connectors. either way ps4 comes with a decent headset(sike).

Xbox headsets are in the same boat. The only thing that has changed is the chat connector. Audio will work fine without the adapter. Once the adapter is released they will be fully functional.

Difference is M$ was forthcoming with this information while Sony lied just too look better.

I knew this would start happening as we get closer to launch. Sony has been playing this pr game by being as vague as possible and letting the masses fill the blanks. Sony is looked in a positive light by most so of course they going to think good things to fill the blanks . But as time gets closer there starting to see the reality of the situation on sony side. Say what you will but Microsoft has been very upfront about his features and policies even when they do change.
