They will work through the 3.5mm jack, as you can see in the pic from the polygon article. Will probably have to wait for the update for wireless. But for now plug them into your controller.

You do realize the pulse headsets also has 3.5mm connection? It'll work day 1 regardless of when the Bluetooth patch is supposed to come out.

The answer we received from Sony is complicated. If you have a Sony-branded PULSE gaming headset (or the elite edition of that product), you will need to wait for a system update coming in the future. It seems that those will not work at all at launch

When Xbots learned that MS wasn't launching with a headset initially and that their old headsets wouldn't work they just said, "we'll just buy new accessories, no big deal". Sony says this and you see how pro Sony stans call it out as bullshyt on the spot? That's the difference between the two coalitions.
