yes, PC isn't separated by 'generations', so it looks bad if you're essentially selling a patch. but with consoles now supporting previous gen games, it also starts to look like they're selling you a patch. there's also been a lot of good will going around with games getting free next gen upgrades

thing is all the work they put in for this remaster was put in for Miles. they upgraded assets and graphics options so Miles would look like a next gen game. then they moved those upgrades over to the OG Spiderman. this is also probably why the Spiderman Remaster is only available as part of the Miles Ultimate Edition, since the remaster uses Miles' assets

whatever the case is, $ony could have made the Spiderman PS5 upgrade free. it would have been a good move to keep their customers happy, and in-line with what we're seeing other platforms and games doing. but instead you gotta pay $70 to get the patch
