It’s not even that people don’t buy consoles for exclusive games it’s that people don’t buy Xbox for exclusive games. Nintendo has existed since the N64 mostly off exclusive games. Sony got in the lead position they enjoy now off them and the Xbox 360 both lived and died by them.

The 30% cut from games purchases and microtransaction is valuable. I think we're many years away when gaming consoles become niche because technology is not there for cloud gaming to work seamless.

Its been seamless for a decade in some places, and there are better steanming than xbox available now
I/ve used Xbox streaming for about 6yrs and its flawless for the most part. Sports games used to be an issue but I've heard it's straight now
And I'm talking about streaming on the go. At home I stream sometimes from my Xbox One, no issues. Next gen games on my last gen system.

Sony of course will have to prepare for that future, but that seems to be decades away.

I agree that console market has remained stagnant and pc is one of the biggest growth market when it comes to gaming. However, PC gaming prices is still not there for many to leave console market for it. In this economy it seems harder to make the jump but I feel eventually it will happen but not for a long time. I think Sony should be fine for PS6.

PCs come in all shapes and sizes. And updating drivers or whatever isn't hard at all. The fear tactics, I used to purposely engage in them but I used to build and fix PC's so I know its nothing to it. Playing Mindcraft is harder than opening up a case and swapping out a HD,SDD/etc. Adding ram is just plug n play bruh. And its way cheaper in the long run because you can upgrade parts to upgrade your experience. On console you have to buy an new console to upgrade anything. I just seen a Nvidia 5070gpu on sale for $550. They talking about these next gen system to be around $1000
If the PS5pro is $700 and just came out last year. Do the math.... then do the math again.

That is a narrative that you use to justify PlayStation. I grew up on Nintendo and Sega. You needed Sega to play sports games and Nintendo had better adventure games. But Sega still had classics so you really wanted to get both.
