You can log on to any xbox with your live accout, you can do that now on the 360.

The xbox had its own Camera before PSeye (This gen) but I guess you wouldn't know that since you never had an Xbox
This basic camera was able to do everything PSeye could do, and they actually made games supporting it. The PSeye camera was an afterthought me too device. Then once M$ was coming out with Kinect sony was like "Lets make move"
Now your PS4 controller has a lightbar built in, but you may never need it
