HSV-2 is easy to catch because sometimes you won't take the time to look around the vulva of the female. Sometimes the breakout can be inside and the vaginal fluid get to you. Other than that, you're safe. However from what she told you, it sounds morer like HSV 2. Very unlikely that somebody breaking out wanna perform oral sex with fever and malaise involved
