Never rooted any of my phones before, was curious to see what all the hype was about so i downloaded the Stump Root apk and now im wondering how i can take advantage of the 'full control' i have over my phone now

Tbh, ive been the un rooted life and I only miss it barely. Android allows tou to do plenty of shyt already. I used to be heavy on XDA but that shyt is too hard to read now.

If youre not already an advance android user rooting serves no benefit

You should install a custom recovery and back up your phone. clockworkmod or twrp. Next install greenify and wakelock detector and supersu. you also might wanna install titanium backup which let's you backup the current state of your apps and text / phone dialer and more on an SD card. From there you can flash different roms without losing anything.

Puts apps that excessively drain phone batteries to sleep when not in use. You can use Wakelock detector to see what apps wake your phone up from deep sleep when you aren't using it and Greenify to make them stop waking your phone up and draining your battery.
