can u imagine if the winner threw it by mistake..

It’s only been 3 weeks.. they probably getting shyt change and new home set up before they come forward, so they can jump on the helicopter to the private jet once they come forward in the media
Thing is no damn body has too know they won it. SC is a state you can stay anonymous. That's what's weird about the shyt to me.

So yalls paranoia is why people gotta become public enemy #1 after they win that shyt huh?
Pretty much. Without anonymity, there are a lot more mafia scams, McDonald's Monopoly game scams and other associate of an associate scams. People have to trust real people are winning, and not the Lottery Commissioner's brother's hedge fund LLC.

Well South Carolina is anonymous so they don't gotta show their face.

I'm thinking the dude is married so he trying get that divorce finalized before claiming the money :mjlol:
If he won it while still married it's still a marital asset. Divorcing his wife isn't going to do anything, but speed up her getting a chunk of the money.

Sounds like I’d do. Get a lawyer and a 250k loan. Lay extra low for 364 days. Claim the ticket on a rainy afternoon in a fake janitors uniform and a Jamie foxx beard.

How would you choose to kill yourself when you show up to claim your $1,500,000,000 on that 364th day and they inform you you're getting $0 cuz you only had 180 days to claim it? Inquiring minds want to know. :lupe:

Winner of $1.5B Mega Millions has not claimed prize

TWEETLINKEDINCOMMENTEMAILMORE

SIMPSONVILLE, S.C. — The winner of the huge $1.5 billion Mega Millions jackpot still has not come forward. A ticket sold in Simpsonville matched all the numbers of the October 23 drawing.

It's been nearly three weeks since that drawing and state lottery officials tell News19 there's no word on the winner yet. Shortly after the drawing, they urged the potential winner to sign the ticket, put it in a safe location and seek council from a financial planner or lawyer.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing to come forward. Their time doesn't run out until April 21st.

The numbers drawn on October 23 were 5, 28, 62, 65, 70 and Mega Ball 5.

The ticket was sold at a KC Mart in Simpsonville, 90 miles northwest of Columbia. Lottery representatives unfurled a banner at the convenience store that read "Luck Struck Here!"

KC Mart owner C.J. Patel said he will receive about $30,000 for his role in the mega-event. He said he plans to split the proceeds with his four employees.

"Hopefully it will bring us more business," Patel said.

Smart person IMO. Better to get with a lawyer, financial planner etc... That way they can prepare for unforeseen situations that pop up when she come into a shytload of money. They have a year to claim it any way.
Nah they only have 180 days

The winner still has three months to turn over the ticket to state lottery officials and become instantly mega rich. But three months have gone by with no word from whoever bought the winning ticket at a convenience store in Simpsonville.

“We’re starting to get nervous about whether that $61 million is realistic,” Frank Rainwater, director of the state Revenue and Fiscal Affairs Office, told legislators during a briefing on state revenue estimates Tuesday.

If no one surfaces before the state’s economic advisers meet in the middle of next month, they will consider reducing projected surpluses so legislators don’t count on an iffy $61 million when they craft their budget proposals for the fiscal year starting July 1.

Currently, the $61 million is part of a half-billion dollars in projected surpluses meant for one-time expenses.

That $61 million could cover agencies’ requests for new voting machines or new school textbooks or prison cell door upgrades.
