Sorry but I can't put Andre 3000 in a Top 10 list over a Solo artist

Thing is though he made a career out of feeding off of trugoys energy just like andre did with big boi. Trugoy and big boi have an equal share in all of those classics.

we gotta agree to disagree in regards to the dynamic between Pos and Dave my g. I never once felt Pos was feeding off of Dave's energy. can you provide some examples?

And now that I think about it, I think in your comparison with both groups the issue is that one member was just nicer than the other as far as rhymes ago, the gap is especially big with Dre and Big Boi. Seems to me you're lowkey trying to even them out by saying one member had more "energy".

I think it's more likely that Andre bounced ideas off of Big Boi for verses a lot more than Pos did with Dave.

Dre is one of my favorite artists and I put Kast as my favorite artists period. Dre can spit with the best of them, and putting not putting out a solo album does not take away from that. He has a vast body of work, spanning decades and genres. He's been a part of classic albums from Southernplayalistic to speaker box and the love below. Now while I wouldn't dare say is overrated he is one of the most frustrating artists in history. And here's why.

1. He sings too much. I like speaker box more than love below because of this. I'm not saying don't sing, but keep that shyt to a minimum. I wanna hear bars
2. His "acting" career took away from his rap career. Why pass on making another classic album, just for a minor part in some b level movies?
3. 30 Hours....I don't know who to be mad at, 3 stacks or Ye. I was so disappointed that this was his feature on TLOP. nikka that was a perfect opportunity to spit some classic shyt, but instead we get that 44 fake. Why even put your name on that? For all those asking for a wack 3 stacks verse there ya go smfh.
4.The fact there will probably never be another Kast album and it's all Dre's fault. Kast is just a duo. 2 nikkas. It's not like there's a gang of nikkas each with a bunch of issues you gotta corral to get in a booth, it's just two of y'all. They both appear to be in good health, no drug problems that we know off. Both are obviously still into music. So why the fukk not?? Big Boi is down, be 3 stacks be on that bull shyt.

Even if Andre 3000 dropped a solo album, people who cry "he's not Top 10 because he doesn't have a solo" still wouldn't put him up there. The argument would then be "is it a classic". That's why I have Andre 3000 in a personal Top 10 and not a Top 10 that I would make objectively. It would be difficult to put him in the ranks with MC's who have one or two game changing solo albums.

It's another example of faulty logic and bias. I've seen people put Prodigy in their Top 10's. Yes, he has solo albums, but when people put him in Top 10's, they aren't basing it on his solo albums. People bring up verses from Infamous and Hell On Earth to defend why he's Top 10. "Well, unlike 3000, he has solo material". Yes, Prodigy has solo material, but if you're considering someone Top 10, the solo material should be strong enough to stand on it's own merit (if you're using having a solo album as criteria). If you're still going to fall back on what an artist did as part of a group to defend them being Top 10, what purpose does dropping a solo album serve? Take Cube for instance. Death Certificate and Amerikkka'z Most Wanted are strong enough to stand on their own without ever mentioning Straight Outta Compton.

I don't agree with the premise. As long as there is enough material out there to judge, whether it's solo or in a group, a dope mc is a dope mc. A rapper who has only released material in a group can certainly be much better than a solo rapper and qualify for goat status.
