:banderas:
It doesn't seem like he can make a complete, consistent project though. He's incredibly talented though.
RIP Alori Joh :mjcry:

Control System was a complete, cohesive and consistently dope project. He's definitely got the ability, but he may have lost the ability :lupe:

People are sleeping hard...

People forgot about Long Term Mentality (his real debut) and Control System? All of the Long Term mixtapes were personal classics as well.

He dropped one so-so album in These Days..hasn't really dropped many verses since.

His quality music to average music ratio is still extreme on the quality end.

How can you give up on a rapper after their last release? If it was a cpl of These Days albums in a row I'd understand, however, his history says otherwise.

Ab-Soul is like the Gohan of TDE. Most powerful and needs to be backed into a corner/the underdog to bring out his best, otherwise he will just coast on talent alone, he's that good.

I usually wouldn't after one bad album, but I think for me these days was that bad compared to albums and mixtapes that I thought were that good it made me not anticipate new music like that, I honestly think I played Long Term 2 just as much as Control System, shyt at one point I had more Soul music in my iTunes then anyone else in TDE, it's more the production over the last two years for me more than anything tho, he can still spit but his production on These Days was so Bland and uninspired compared to what I'm used to from him.

I must be the only one to like these days

Outside of a few average tracks it was actually a good album. The problem is, Ab set the bar so high with Longterm Mentality and Control System...and fans are always on that 'what have you done for me lately'..esp in the internet age. CS was THAT album for the spring/summer of 2012, it's my album of the year that year.

Hopefully These Days ends up being Ab's Nastradamus.

That's what I meant with the Gohan comment. It's almost like he has to be on the come up/hungry/going thru something to bring out his best.

Let's hope the criticism has sparked that for him once more

anything even remotely near to the quality of tracks like book of soul and ill support and be very happy, last album was a severe misstep..they should never have attempted such a concept when an artist had started to pick up steam like that. I still do have faith that soulo can make great music though..hes def got an interesting story to tell and we all know hes been through some stuff. Just hope hes got his shyt together.
