things may still work out in miami's favor one way or another but i'll say this:
While not a big fan of his (though i

his statements against sterling), i always thought it was genius what he did in summer 2010... but i think at some point people lost sight of what that was... (that is, a 'lebron' thing, where he basically became the new age "Shaq".. i.e. a dominant mercenary-for hire who'll go to whichever situation.. or create whatever situation... that he feels is in his best interest, no fuks given) and instead started seeing it as a 'pat riley' thing.. as if pat was this mastermind don who orchestrated everything and would somehow get lebron to take an even steeper pay cut, get melo to take a steep pay cut, all this other stuff, and basically create a cap situation and team that would be in miami's (and arison's) best financial interest... and hey, maybe.
but problem with all that is, while i dont think Lebron has anything against miami or riley, at the end of the day its always been about his own best interests, i dont think that ever changed.. He's like a nicer version of shaq in that he just doesn't burn bridges during his stay, at least not until the very very end lol.
so that doesn't mean I feel he's leaving miami but taking a steep pay cut for a big 4 or just additional "help" never seemed logical to me, not when he could just go to several other teams that could give him that + another star player, without a drastic paycut (or a paycut at all). Now Miami still has a lot of cap space, hence why i dont think its over or anything, but it just comes back to what they will (or wouldn't) do with wade and bosh.
