Who's T-Rob?

I'm thinking they wanted a center ready to play now. Aldridge doesn't want to play center anymore.

They only gave up one 2nd rounder for Lopez.

As a Portland fan, I agree it was worth it. They either had to trade LA and start rebuilding or get a passable starting center. Lopez is pretty average, but a legitimate center.

Can't rebound but that's where Thomas Robinson hopefully helps off the bench. That is supposedly the one thing he can do at an NBA level at this stage of his career.

They decided to go for the playoffs, and between their picks and trades, they have definitely improved their roster.

Oh yeah...Thomas Robinson, totally forgot about that.

I'm a Blazer fan too...Meyers Leonard showed absolutely nothing to me last season. I thought they should've picked Tyler Zeller in last years draft.

Yeah- that Leonard pick was a mistake. I guess he runs the floor well and can get up, but I could definitely see him being out of the league in a couple of years.

You from Portland?

No. But I lived in Alaska when I was a kid and everybody up there goes for the Seattle teams.

It was annoying so went for their rivals instead...Blazers and Raiders (when the Seahawks were in the AFC West). It just so happens that both of those teams won a championship the year I was born!

Crazy- I didn't know Alaskans adopted Seattle teams, makes sense though. I grew up in Portland in the 80's and I have been stuck with them ever since. Went to college in L.A. and live in D.C. now, but that is my hometown team so I have to stay loyal. Lot of heartbreak though.

if anthony davis live up to his potential this will be a great trade in retrospect

That's something I don't think people are grasping. The Pelicans HAVE to be all in with thinking that Anthony Davis will live up to the hype and be this top player that many projected him to be. If he indeed does turn out to be a bonafide top player, adding pieces like Evans, Jrue, and Gordon instantly looks better because we're surrounding a top player with adequate talent.

We can debate about the Evans and Jrue and Gordon moves all we want, the Pelicans real future in trying to become a top team competing for a championship lies with if Anthony Davis lives up to the hype or not.
