The vocal are transplants that are retired, and are not paying active taxes to the betterment of their surroundings. No estate tax, no state tax, they have no care about making their state better. They have no idea or care of revenue to active businesses that those spring breaks money bring to business owners. This is worse then old people yelling at clouds, this is complete ignorance of transactional economy (mostly white people.)
Its the same as moving to Kentucky, and complain that coal pollution is a determine to your life.. Like get a clue, you moved to the environment that has existed for a long time.

I enjoy south beach, but I never go in March. I do not want to be among the ignorant spring breakers.

LOL, you're stupid as fukk, if you believe that this spring break outcry is strictly from white people. I have friends that live in Miami, and it's hell on earth this time of the year, with the ratchets coming in (mostly from different states), acting up, wilding out and causing a raucous everywhere. I was down there almost exactly a year ago for a work trip and to visit friends, and it was unbelievable the amount of thugs and ratchets were taking over SoBE. I saw fights, I saw crowds running because they thought the cops were coming towards them, and there was a shooting just a block way from where I was staying where a guy literally got popped and got executed right in the middle of Ocean Drive in South Beach.
The locals there can't stand the drama and the fights, and the robbings and shootings. If I lived there, I would be pissed at the out of town element coming to Miami and ruining the tourism there. They should tell those people to stay the fukk home, or go somewhere else.
They do misbehave and when being older like I am now, I recognize how childish and better that can be done on this issue.. I graduated college myself and never had a spring break honestly.. but it’s been this way for 40 years, Florida destination, they market it, marketing dollars go to getting those spring breakers there.. late age purchasers knew about this coming into their current location.. I encourage change that would continue the positive economic impact that the tourism brings, without the embarrassment that those event brings to locals.
I would just say, I do not feel bad for those retirees that CHOOSE to live there

I would never go to Miami for any major holiday weekend. Too fukking ratchet and violent. I honestly don't blame some business from sitting down shop temporarily. It ain't worth it.
