Damn, this shyt came out of nowhere. I don't follow S. Korean politics very closely but I'd think we would have heard about something leading up to this. Free trade agreements really did a number on the West then Covid came and kicked in everything else. The next decade is gonna be ass.

Long story short: The opposition (Dem Party of SK) is investigating the president and pushing to impeach him. His wife is also under watch for corruption and white collar crimes.

So the president's response is to yell about communist infiltrators and to stay in power through whatever means.
