I heard both words used to describe the staple, but I am more concerned about what type of breading and seasoning is used rather than what it is called.

Oh, for me, dressing is made with cornbread/cornmeal. Stuffing is made with croutons or flour based breading. Not stating a fact. Just how I see it.

Dressing - corn bread dressing is more talk around my way. Seafood dressing (with shrimp and crawfish tails) str8 crack, or just plain ole dressing with chicken and gizzards.

Stuffing - I guess, would be the stuff going in the turkey as someone mentioned.

Yep ive never heard anyone call it stuffing, always dressing my family makes it with crawfish and shrimp might be a South Texas and Louisiana thing.
