They all peaked in like 2013 tho. I still fw Denzel music but ion know if he has another project as good as N64 in him. Besides ion think the dark shyt will be as easy to sell now, on account of everybody making bubblegum trap like yachty and shyt

yeah i havnt even checked out denzels new tape, the ult single was alright but yeah its the darker sound he might not be able to pulloff but he's trying to make more feel good tracks i think

i went to one of his shows 2 years ago and i went up to him to let him know i been listening to him ever since he made head crack, breh looked shook tho :mjlol:

how he shape rap when he was biting an already established sound that predated him 10 or more years?
:mjlol:

Nah Purrp was heavily influenced by 3 6 obviously, but he put his own spin on it and created a new sound. Songs like this:

are pretty unique and definitely distinguished from Memphis. A lot of the darker, more atmospheric trap shyt can be traced back to Purrp to an extent.

Plus in terms of style and fashion, Purrp brought in the whole street goth weirdo aesthetic. Obviously it made a big impact on A$AP, but low key a lot of newer Southern rappers were influenced by it. Basically everyone in Awful Records, dudes like Travis Scott, and even Young Thug to an extent. I mean, dudes like Thug probably weren't listening to Purrp, but what Purrp did, was he made it seem normal to be completely out there and like an alien in post 2010 rap. He proved you could be street, goth, and a ghetto rockstar-type figure all at once. That paved the way for newer rappers' personas to be accepted.

So without Purrp, the whole weirdo rap thing wouldn't have gotten as big as it did. Sure, you had other weird artists like Lil B and Odd Future, but in terms of acting like an alien, Purrp was taken more seriously than both of them, before he started beefing with everyone. A lot of people don't like weirdo rap, but the man really did push the boundaries in terms of how mysterious or eccentric a modern artist could be.

Oh and the whole comeback of 'trill' is almost entirely the direct result of Purrp and Raider Klan's initial run.

that whole trillwave/street goth ish seems to be over.

Nah you're tripping. I was listening to the NASA Mixtape and the beats he had on there was on some other shyt. Blackland Radio was def. closer to biting, but that NASA tape had a unique ass sound.
people who say that havent listened to Purrp or his productoon. he does have some serious next level shyt thats very innovative.

that still sounds otherworldy and shyt

nikkas saying shyt just to say it.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
Brehs we need a Spaceghostpurrp, Nell, Denzel, and Pouya mixtape. :lupe:

I ain't know Pouya was a frail white boy till I seen the Noisey doc recently.:mjlol:

Had only heard features here and there, but I can't rock with that part of the Florida scene. Robb Banks, Fat Nick, Pouya all made the region look like its full of weirdos

Thank god for Kodak and Koly P:whew:
