You can control a kid,but spanking and talking wont work on a grown teenager .Your kid will test you and disrespect its just that some will be bold and do it to your face and some will do it behind your back.

The biggest punishment for an 80s or 90's baby back in day was being grounded to where we couldnt go outside and play with our friends. Its like we could take ass whooping ,get our Playstation taken but not being able to spend time with our friends was real punishment. These kids these days dont fear shyt,they know the # to DYFS or Child Services. They airing parents out on social media etc.. They dont fear ass whoopings or discipline. I taught teenagers,damn near mentored them. This generation is ruthless.

You're not supposed to beat your kids all the time.

If the only time you show your kids attention is when they fck up, then that's what they're going to do.

Spankings without proper guidance and explanation probably do do this.

The problem is, a lot of parents spank without letting the child know why they are getting it and the behavior that needs to change. Spankings are supposed to be a consequence of bad behavior, but if the child doesn't understand this, it can and will create "defense mechanisms" for coping...

Got 3 young kids myself and one thing I'll say is, its up to us all how we choose to discipline our own. We are the ones who'll have to face the consequences of whatever methods we choose. Most people who see physical discipline as abuse either don't have kids or want to feel better about themselves as a person. Dont see anything wrong with it myself as long as its justified. One thing above anything else we gotta do with our kids is prepare them for the harsh realities of the world

Spanking as a way of showing a child has done wrong isn't a big issue (spanking, not hitting).

My Mother used to hit me with a wooden spoon and it didn't do shyt.

The issue is parents have replaced spanking as a way to discipline your child with...nothing.
