When I first heard about it I thought it was one of those fan films like you see with Star Wars, who the fuk makes a film about Ashur, the guy who died?
Steven S. DeKnight is back as showrunner and a writer from the OG that wrote some of the best episodes also returned. No Sam Raimi though which has me a bit nervous
The only way they'll keep me from giving it a chance is if news comes out that they abandoned the dialogue style the first series had which I think is unlikely since it was DeKnight's idea to make them talk that way.

If there is ever any ONE show that you must watch.....Its the OG Spartacus series.
Literally has everything you want.
Action, compelling story, dope characters, great dialogue, eye candy, violence, great soundtrack, and epic season finales.
I'm not even overselling this shyt. Just keeping it real.

Everyone gets to be badass in this. Brehs, women, cacs, and gays putting mind and sword to fukking purpose! The pilot ep. might have thrown some folks off, thinking it was only softcore porn and over the top violence but it turned out to be a pretty deep and decent historical drama.
