Alot do know, I'll probably offend some, but the British and French colonies have a more paternal(but racist) relationship with their colonizers and there's a more "relaxed" attitude with them. I call it soft social racism(but hard economically) Americans are made DIFFERENT and alot can not see the hidden high risks when dealing with them(Americans), so they tend to carry the same relaxed attitude...or with those from other parts of Europe(mainly east).
I had a Liberian(unofficial American colony) friend tell an Indian friend that the Indian can't go on a helicopter trip to the mountains with his yte friends. He told the Indian, "you have no insurance, and no support here in this country, you are on a visa, if something happens, you will be on your own. This is their home, they have help if something happens". His familiarty with the American brand made him more vigilant.
