Show me a diamond single that wasn’t a hitSo diamond = classic to you?
The fact here is the sales, not the classic status. Can’t debate what’s facts
Eminem has some good songs and lyrics but overall his projects are mid.
Production wasn't good enough despite cohesion.Seems like that's a fair criticism for all of his albums except MMLP.
Marshall Mathers was a straight, clear vision from beginning to end. I mean come on, the first eight tracks are:
Kill You
Stan
Who Knew
The Way I Am
The Real Slim Shady
Remember Me
I'm Back
Marshall Mathers
The next stretch of the album isn't as strong, but still has bytch Please II, Kim, and Criminal to close shyt up.
It's not just that there's some good songs there, it's that the message is so consistent and well-developed from song to song. People were playing that shyt and it was like Eminem was landing body blows with every track. The anger, the dysfunction, the lyricism, the shock value, the commentary on how rappers and rap fans and rap critics relate to each other, all of that was memorable as shyt.
I get people not liking Eminem because his songs are about a certain life that not everyone is going to relate to and a lot of his albums are mid or worse with the production/musicality. But he created something lasting with this project.
I’m sure fans believe classic status can also be proven through the hands of time passed as well as sales. Smarten up NasThe fact here is the sales, not the classic status.![]()
To say MMLP is not a classic is like The Game saying 2001 was released in 2001.Seems like that's a fair criticism for all of his albums except MMLP.
