I didn't know Twista was a drill rapper. Or Rhymefest. Or a plethora of normal people living in Chicago who had a problem with the movie. And I meet and speak to Spike on plenty of occasions. Pretty cool cat. Not hatin on him at all. But It seems like the only people who fukk wit the movie are people that ain't even from Chicago. Not a good sign. nikkas gonna chalk all those people up to wanting to see a Chicago version of Menace 2 Society? shyt is a very condescending mentality imo.I liked the movie and if his point about Chance's father is true than that's a valid statement.

The trailer for it was the most disappointing thing I ever struggled to watch from one of my favorite directors. IT seems his best works are truly behind him.
It had the potential to be one of his best off the cast, setting and content but he completely fumbled it
before the trailer, people were thinking he was gonna drop a film like his old jawns.I didn't mind the vampire movie or that japanese remake he did, but this one was just ass.

Wait a minute what does chance have do with his father trangressions? That not his battle to fight. Nor does Chance portray himself as a gangster rapper so what about him is phony? Spike feelings must be hurt because he threw a random shot hoping it would stick.

What's wrong with Chances father? Dude runs a few programmes to get kids to go to school instead of banging, he works for the mayor, used to work for the senator, that is Obama, he's not a politician.
Chicagos problems runs deeper than one mayor, it's structural problems within communities, families, corruption and on. Cats are not out banging all of a sudden cause there's a new mayor and the police are not being brutal all of a sudden, it's actually a lot less violent the the first half of the 2000s and like half compared to the 90s BUT a lot more viral due to the internet. 2014 was the least violent year in Chicagos history, but these internet times made us believe that it was worse than ever.
