Most of those movies straight up suck. I am pretty sure that Tarrantino was watching some Spike Lee joints when he saw Samuel Jackson.

Deaded........ Melvin Van Peebles, Sergio Leone, John Woo, Akira Kurosawa with a side order of Michael Mann, Tarantino makes good flicks but people get extra with the praise, until he can make a flick that makes you forget that he's directing it I'm good

but just on talent and body of work........Spike and it's not close....i've seen django and pieces of qt's films.....he's not creative at all......I watched all the films that he jacks for beats.....and he just quilts shyt together.

I used to carry crates for my friends who dj'd and after hearing the original songs that were sampled, I wasn't as impressed with 98% of "rap producers" anymore for the same reason.
