Yes.. .To keep it a hunnid... My grandparents never really bought into the concept of anyone else preparing your food... Food is personal, its the sustenance that sustains life... So with that being said, they felt like only a loved one should prepare and bless food for you.. real talk..

This is partly why I'm doing it. Energy purposes, spiritual growth and to know exactly what's going in my body. Your grandparents sound like deep folk :ehh:

I think there's something to this whole thing but the time commitment is like :wow: hours daily just on cooking smh

And expensive :francis: all these individual ingredients and fresh shyt smh

I finally had a bite of some restaurant food this weekend and I couldnt do it. Tasted like sodium :lolbron: I just put everything in a to-go box and then reheated my own pork chops when I got home.

So true.

Maybe its the fact that I work in a kitchen, but I lost the appeal of eating out. It's more to spend time with friends or family than the actual food.

I don't cook everyday, but I do cook a lot. I actually cook meals pretty quick. I have a culinary degree, so getting healthy quality meals is pretty easy for me. Most of the time I can cook up a meal faster then I can get at a restaurant. I worked in plenty of restaurants and know lots of short cuts to getting a good meal done in a quick amount of time.

I was thinking of taking classes. Do you think it's worth it for home cooks, not those trying to work in the restaurant industry?

Grocery shopping is expensive and a pain in the booty. Lol. But I overshop. I have meat and seafood for days in my freezer.

I feel you on the take out. I hardly ever eat takeout because when I was little we mostly had home cooking.

I cook at least five times a day and go to different restaurants during the weekend. Why not treat myself. Yes I do cook allot. Every man should learn how to cook. Its a valuable skill set to obtain.

Cooking for yourself can get very expensive.... but its will benefit you a lot more health wise, and esteem wise if you prepare most of your own food. Every meal does not have to be a gourmet masterpiece..... once you realize that that, you'll be off and running.....

and also, if you're going to be serious about it, make sure you have some good cooking tools to work with it..... Cheap pots and pans........ :scusthov:

It's actually pretty expensive and unless you are serious about cooking it might now be worth it just to be a home cook. I do a lot of catering and have put my degree to use, so it pays off.
