Two friends are NYC based robbers who do heists with a small crew of friends. After a heist at a night club, an altercation occurs and one of their colleagues feels slighted and disrespected.
They hear about a new type of heroin and one of them, Bundy, is very interested in buying said heroin and expanding out of state. He visits a possible distributor in Jamaica, and earns his blessing to buy heroin and distribute it as he pleases.
When word gets out locally and in New York that they're selling heroin in Nebraska, their enemies locally and former partners who feel wronged seek to end this distribution channel and kill one of the leaders, Bundy. Bundy recruits young criminals to work for him, when costs them their life, and much violence follows.
While Bundy is dealing with the drug operation in Nebraska, his partner Sincere, is losing interest in continuing his life of crime. Bundy ends up getting arrested following a shooting, and after he is released he is approached by an unidentified man who is seemingly a clandestine agent, or other mysterious figure. Because of the charges Bundy is facing, he is compromised, and agrees to infiltrate an NOI-like religious organization, and assassinate it's leader before a speech on new years eve.
While he is running his COINTELPRO in the organization, the messages of said leader relate to Bundy, and he chooses not to kill the leader, and improve the outlook of his life. Similarly, Sincere (following an attempt on his life by the afformentioned former partner) gets inspired to move his family to Africa and further escape the wages of crime and violence they have created.
It is a pretty clear story.
If you want the plot on the back of a napkin or TLDR format:
Two NYC criminals expand their enterprise while also dealing with their growing desire to escape their life of violence.
