It's cool to shyt on young black men chasing rap dreams. But I see just as many young white men in garage bands. People laugh at wanna be rappers and then applaud aspiring rock stars. I know a guy that didn't re-enlist in the Air Force because he wanted to tour with his band. Nobody batted an eye. People laugh at guys making beats on their laptop but if a guy says that he plays drum in a band everyone wants to see him perform.
Hip hop fans shyt on the people that aspire to participate in it. Do people realize that everyone that is a star now was a "wanna-be" at one point?

I dont necessarily agree with what Im going to say and Im just bringing it up to bring a dissenting opinion on the topic but a difference between a rapper and a band is, with a band the band members are learning a redeemable skillset (whether it's drummer, guitarist, and even vocalist) that can be used even if the band doesnt pan out. They can move onto other bands, become session players for producers hell even teach others how to play. While a rapper is an all or nothing type thing there really isnt a redeemable skill that can be used if the rapping doesnt pan out...
