dont think street cats cant give sound advice. I dont mean street dudes your age...OG's. Plenty of old heads ( ex-con/ drug abusers-dealers) would encourage me to go to college and do something positive and dont end up where I am. Even though these werent relatives or men I had any real connection with, that kind of encouragement stuck with me to this very day
depending on what you city you live in you may not need a car. dont be in a rush to buy a car right now. do not move out, stay at home, and save your money. be cautious about what to do in college. do not be in a rush to go to college it will still be there later. if you can get full time work and stay at home and save that itself is one of, if the best option you have right now so dont be in a rush and discount simply doing that. doing only this you will have a lot of money going forward to invest in various things down the line that you may not have an ability to do going to college and entering into debt.
Just remember youre never too young to be saving money and putting it away for retirement...Id advise all young cats dont wait til your late 20s or 30s,learn from your families mistakes and start putting money every week away now...
your savings are what define you. you are only as rich as what you have saved. the rest is just an illusion.

I would say any lil bit right now you can afford...generally you should try to put half of each check away into savings if you can afford too...
all of it if you can. at the age of 20 thats not hard. calculate how much you would have in a year of doing this, then 5 years etc. the figure you get will be a cause to motivate you.

Srly, comparing your life to others will make u miserable.
I'm 25 & do that, sometimes. And I'm anxious and frustrated, a lot.
A bad break or two, plus plenty bad decisions got me off the path of a normal mid 20s cat.
