I loved Kanye's first two albums. Not sure id say they are classics. Graduation was a let down. 808s was wack - but more of an alternative album anyway. MBDTF was excellent. Yeezus was trash.

He's got a ton of amazing beats when he was producing them.

we sort of on the same page I guess. I dont think Kanye has any classic albums (but I wouldn't debate somebody who says he does)

I do think Kanye is a top 5 song maker in hip hop tho. If you add up all his songs from each album, I cant really think of too many rappers that has as many bangers..

kanye stole and took credit for that down and out beat he gave to cam, which basically helped him blow up. if it weren't for cam kayne wouldn't be here today. plus he puts his name on a lot of stuff that isn't his. anyone can spin a 70s track fast and get that high-pitched voiceover that he's well known for.

good producer? maybe. hip hop legend? no

lol keep dreamin breh, kanye did not blow up off a Camron song. jesus be real, the blueprint had been out like 3 year by the time purple haze dropped, and College Droout almost a year. That song was inconsequential to Kanyes rise

hmmm... i think jay had more to do with ye being here today than cam. correct me if im wrong, tho. and kanye hasnt even used that style of production since maybe 06?

hes a legend for his story alone, if nothing. last call made him a legend on his first album, simply because he made it. jay went from laughing at this dude raps, to making and album with him. #legend

Regardless of your personal feelings about him or his recent musical output; yes. It's not even a question.

Through The Wire was one of the last "Chills Thru My Bones" moment I've had in Rap.

Like; "  Duke really spittin' with a broke face?"

Kanye West is arguably the greatest artist the genre of hip-hop has ever seen.

Note I said artist. Not lyricist, not producer, not MC, not hook person. Kanye West is a true artist.

and im not even a Ye stan. But credit must be given when credit is due. His work at this point eclipses a mere genre, IMO he must named among the greats in music, period.
You giving Ye waaaaaay too much credit.

At most he's the most consistent Hip Hop artist.
