If you ever watch Standing In The Shadows Of Motown in the liner notes there's a part where the bassist who wrote the book it came from, was having lunch with one of the house band's guitarists... There they were chillin when the intro to "My Girl" came on over the radio...The brother lit right up like he saw an old friend remembering comin up with that lick when the waiter comes over as he's breakin it down and just smiles and nods like 'Howboutthat... The Funk Brothers wrote the soundtrack to an entire generation and up till that piece the average joe wouldn't even know who they were :to:
