spin: should i cop a PS3 or a x-box 360?

PS3 ($100 on craigslist for slim version)

pros: free online play, better graphics, certain games exclusive to ps3 only (MLB baseball)

cons: more expensive, controller d-pad is garbage for fighting games cuz its not connected together



x-box ($70 on craigslist)

pros: cheaper than ps3, better controller d-pad

cons: $50 a year for online play (live)

The Dual shock is actually known to be better for fighting games. Most of my friends who own both the 360 and PS3 would rather play on the PS3 when it comes to fighters and these are nikkas that barely turn on the PS3 for anything else but watching blu-rays and some exclusives. Either way if you're playing fighting games with default controllers you're taking an L since fighting sticks are where it's at.

PS3 in the graphics department is shaky since most of the multiplat games turn out to be gimped in graphics compared to their 360 versions. The 360 is easier to develop for so most multiplatform games are home to the 360 and then ported to PS3.

Home devs for the PS3 be winning on exclusives though so most of their exclusives look better than 360 exclusives.

It's a toss up. I'd go with the system that has more games catered to you.

If I was into shooters and didn't have a PC, I would have bought a 360 but if you're into RPGs and Fighters go PS3.

You're one of the rare dudes that like bat tops. Almost everyone I know that has a fight stick are all like when you mention bat tops and square gates. Many don't consider bat tops "legit" (in other words shyt). You can buy a Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition fight stick and customize it but that's gonna run you a lot of money. Don't get into that if you're not REALLY into fighting games.

But yeah the PS3 controller I'd say is the better one for fighting games. I've tried the 360 controller and I don't really like the feel of the d-pad at all. Some folks don't mind it but to me it's easy to fukk up strings on it.

When you say sports games you talking about Madden as well? With what you listed I'd get the Xbox 360. Also If many of your homies have a 360, I'd go that route.

PS3 is cheaper than a 360 since you DON'T have to pay for online.

But if your friends got 360s, I don't see why you'd want a PS3 unless you want the superior exclusives.

Bat top/ball top are personal choices and don't affect gaming. I'm chatting with a homie now who calls a bat top a fakkit preference

So are square and octagonal gates. Preferences, it's whatever feels great for you. But what I strongly suggest is that you stay the fukk away from dem wireless fight sticks. I wouldn't recommend going wireless on a fight stick at all. It's kind of like how serious FPS players on the PC are fierce about using wired keyboards.

You need to be wired if you want no flukes but then again if you ain't that serious about it than it's do you.

Those arcades don't matter. I know most of the shoryuken forum goers are ball top users and are very serious players.

Either way I'm telling you that bat/ball it's just a preference and shouldn't affect your gaming at all.
