It's difficult for a perimeter player to get DPOY
Came in to say this.
It's difficult for a perimeter player to get DPOY
It's difficult for a perimeter player to get DPOY
Only non-big men to ever win it:
Artest (2004)
Payton (1996)
MJ (1988)
Cooper (1987)
Robertson (1986)
Moncrief (83, 84)
Since the 90s this award is basically for big men only![]()
Yeah true that's kind of f*cked up imo...I don't know, I tend to be more impressed by perimeter d because they have to cover more ground and guys like Pip or MJ are very versatile defenders (everything from PGs to PFs), as opposed to Centers who "just" (not trying to deny that's not a big feat in itself), maybe even more so in this day and age...yeah I'm still pissed that Coward would basically automatically get it, who the hell was he defending against

It's more ridiculous that Tim Duncan has never won it.
Which years should duncan have won it
What year would you have given it to him breh?
But what's interesting is, the Bulls defense got better statiscally in 1994 when Jordan left replacing him with Pete Myers and got worse when he came back in 95'
it's hard to win stuff when you play with jordan. Pip got cheated out of an MVP cause he played with jordan.
Jordan and Pippen would lock up the perimeter back in the day and still have energy to get buckets. Can't see bron and wade consistently locking down the perimeter 82 games a yr and still getting points. Players don't have stamina these days....can't remember the last time I seen a team get at someone with the full court press.
Pippen was cheated out of a MVP?

You can argue he should of won it in 94, But Dream was outstanding. That's really the only year you can argue it
