Record sales nowadays don't always dictate the most accurate artists with talent but Monica is easily the best female singer in the game now. I'd consider her one of the greats now the only thing she doesnt have is a lot of classic songs like Mariah. But Monica is talented and has had quite a few classic and great songs.

Mint Condition may not have a lot of classic big songs but they are consistent as fukk. They stay putting out good albums and songs.

Joe still puts a good song and or album (Signature was his last most recent great album) here and there. Brian Mcknight's most single recent was nice. SWV's last album pretty good too, Coko has always been oneof my favorite singers.

Raphael Saadiq still puts a good records and can write really good songs. His talent is overlooked.

A lot of what gets categorized as R&B these days isn't.

There aren't any great R&B artist out right now. No one really makes R&B music anymore. None of the more popular people at least (ex. Bey, Rih)
The older ones are Whitney, Mariah.
Brandy &Monica were good.
Those are the only people that I can think of right now.
Maxwell, usher was but not now,Lauryn Hill, India Arie (Are these people are considered Soul instead of R&B?)

R&B is missing the love. There's no love in it no more like a Forever My Lady, Can We Talk, Seven Whole Days, Something In My Heart, Let's Chill, Soon As I Get Home (Babyface song)Two Occasions, You Send Me Swingin, Love's Taken Over Quiet Storm Mix, Can You Stand The Rain, Lately(Stevie), Anytime(Brian Mcknight) songs etc.

Cats dont write classic love songs like that anymore.
