I just had to chime in on this entire myth about these rappers working so hard they develop seizures... it's almost like it's a marketing spin to make fans think their favorite artist is dedicated to their job...

There are stressed the fukk out single mothers who barely sleep 2-4 hours a night working 2-3 jobs to take care of their kids for years doing REAL WORK... fathers who are working 7 nights a week 16 hours a day stressed out barely keeping their childrens lights on... not chilling at a studio... talking on a microphone on stage for a couple hours then partying & sleeping on the Tour Bus... sleeping on the plane... fukking girls & playing video games all day... that's not real work. I've been around these nikkas a LOT... these dudes are having the time of their lives not OVERLY WORKING... you have construction workers & factory workers who work 7 days a week in some states doing 18 hours of backbreaking labor for years & cats really think these artists who do less then 4 hours of real work a day are in worse shape? :usure:

These nikkas be at the studio maybe 8 hours 3 times a week when recording... in those 8 hours they are actually WORKING maybe 2... the other time is spent chilling, smoking, watching TV, listening to music or even SLEEPING. Even when they tour these cats sleep on the plane rides & sleep backstage & sleep on the tour busses.
Someone like Rick Ross does maybe 50-100 shows a year... & that's less then an hour on stage each show with the rest of the time spent backstage with bytches or drugs.

...And we're talking about fukkING RAPPERS... you know how easy it is for rappers? These dudes don't have to rehearse shyt... & their recording sessions are 10x shorter then any singer. Pop artists have to work night & day to learn their choreography for their concerts for touring & work 3x harder then any rapper because they spend a frustrating amount of hours learning to perfectly sing songs that are demoed up by other people first. A rapper can record 4-5 songs in the span of 8 hours while a Singer might be able to get through half a song or a full song in 8 hours & usually have to come back & "touch up" records where they didn't have perfect pitch or needed more harmonies, etc... rappers aren't even doubling their verses anymore... remember when rappers actually DOUBLED the end of line on their verses?

This whole "working hard" bullshyt propaganda that these labels are spreading to shadow the fact that their artists just aren't living a HEALTHY LIFESTYLE is disgusting... :scusthov:

Hard workers... GTFOH... nobody... & I mean NOBODY worked harder then Michael Jackson & he *NEVER* suffered seizures the way these cats are...

shyt is laughable... :heh:

WHOA WHOA :whoa:

Rappers may not be learning dances and all but
to act like coming up with dope sh1t is "easy" is a disservice to
my genre of choice.

You don't wake up and pen some sh1t like "The Cool".
You don't stumble upon an "All Eyez On Me","Seven Day Theory",
You don't make albums like "Good Kid MAAD CITY","PREDATOR","O.G. (Original Gangster),"The Black Album","Reasonable Doubt", "Ready To Die","Enter Da Wu-Tang (36 chambers)" in minutes.
There is a lot of thought there.

Actually I'd say it's much more difficult to craft these albums
when you aren't relying on a writing team, a whole horde of musicians and the
best engineers out there.

Not mention a lot of these so called "Singers" can't sing a lick
there's a reason they created auto-tune.

I kinda take offense to this post to be honest as someone who
respects the craft but then again I can't take these posts seriously
on forum where it's okay to regularly sh1t on the genre it's directed at.

:heh:
And not one of the rappers i mentioned has had a seizure
and they damn sure work hard.

Unless of course you tryna imply writing some of Hip Hop's
greatest works is an easy task :mjpls: in that case we can
stop the conversation right here.

Nah fvck that.
This post is laced with a lot of comments that don't pertain to
just Rick Ross and Wayne having seizures.

There are a whole grip of blanket statements basically sh1tting on the
entirety of the genre.

I can't rock with that.

I do agree that Wayne and Rick Ross probably lead unhealthy lifestyles and their seizures are direct results of that but everything else I can't and won't co-sign it.

I view it more as a combination of Lifestyle, demanding work, drug use and lack of sleep. I don't think anyone said it was just "Working Hard". But when you add all those things up together it's a deadly combo. Wayne has clearly been pumping albums out like skittles in the last 4 years as well as hopping on mad collaborations and tours. Factor in the drugs, and the most likely lack of sleep. Also a lot of people like to think being an artist is "Easy" cause it isn't manual labor or some 9-5. These guys travel on planes, live hotel to hotel. Ride on tour buses which can lead to again bad sleeping habits and unhealthily eating cause they are always on the go. That joint isn't as "Fun" or easy as it look from the outside looking in. It can be demanding also. Sure they are rich but just cause someone has money doesn't mean their life is peaches and cream. Wayne did this to himself though. He just had a seizure and then he goes and drinks MORE lean after that. He's an addict and needs help. But don't minimize stress, hard work and exhaustion cause those are real factors in someone health.

Agree with this post right here. People think touring is all fun and games- that shyt isn't fun for artists. I went on 10 day tour of the east and west coast with my uncle's band about 4 years ago and it's fukking exhausting. Bear in mind I didn't do shyt but travel and explore and when I finished, my body was so fukking tired. And these dudes at this point were doing everything- including driving the van. The whole schedule of finishing shows then immediately having to drive (or fly) to city A because you have to be in city A by such and such a time to soundcheck, interview, perform, etc is crazy. If you're lucky, you can go back to the hotel and catch some sleep after the show but then you've gotta wake up at 4:30 in the morning to drive or fly out to city B to start the whole process again. And dudes do this shyt for 30 days straight or more. And think of a dude like Curren$y that stays on the road for like 8 out of 12 months of the year. Obviously the bread makes that shyt worth it but it definitely takes a toll.

Having said that though, if you're living that life combined with an unhealthy lifestyle (copious amounts of drugs, not eating right), you're body is definitely gonna react....

Yeah, he just came off the busiest tour in hip-hop history last summer/fall. Something like 90 shows in 90 days.

Crazy. He puts on a show for his fans too. While I don't rock with too much of his stuff, he does a lot for his fans.

One thing people are forgetting is age and time. Wayne is 30, Ross was mid 30's.

Pac had what, 2 years of that work ethic? Mid 20's at that. Wayne is on about 7-8 years of that lifestyle.

That lifestyle being, little sleep, a lot of drugs, a lot of demands. I don't doubt these dudes push themselves too much physically. Ross has A LOT of people in his pockets. Same with Katt Williams. Would any of their camps be happy if those 3 dudes took a 3 year hiatus?
