well my list would look like this:

1 UGK (created the alleged greatest southern album ever, plus there's 3 other really good/ debatable classic albums in their catalogue, had a bigtime comeback in the mid-2000's unlike Geto Boys, Ball&G or TRU)
2 Outkast (do I really have to explain this?)
3 Geto Boys (classic albums in the late 80's/early 90's that paved the way for most of the top 10 in here. every true rap fan knows Mind Playing Tricks On Me)
4 Three 6 Mafia (first 4 albums are classics, influenced the whole rap game, good sales between 00-06)
5 Eightball & MJG (a couple of classics, very influential, modest sales)
6 Hot Boy$ (1 BIG influential album with big sales. the one before and after that? nobody wasn't really paying attention to those)
7 TRU (1 BIG influential album with big sales, Da Crime Family was underrated but came during their decline. True had Bout It 1 and thats it, but it was No Limit's first really successful album)
8 2 Live Crew
9 Goodie Mob
10 Lil Jon & Eastside Boyz

you know that my top 5 also heavily influenced big stars like Jay-Z, T.I., Young Jeezy, Kanye West or Diddy, right? who the hell are Party Boyz? is that a joke or sumthin'? also Poison Clan is waaaaay to high

my top 5 had more influence on those rappers that you listed.:jawalrus:

"get it how u live" moved crazy units independently. then people from around the rest of the country went back and copped it a couple years later. to act like nobody paid attention to that album is wild.

party boyz = goat. that video was from 1980. theyre pioneers.

Three 6 Mafia has a classic album?

I think hes talking regional classics.

only across-the-board classics are from hot boys, you can say geto boys, I'll say outkast first jawn, some might argue for TRU. that's it. poison clan maybe.

none of the other groups have anything that generally reasonates as a national classic.

3 6 mafia too low other than that solid list

Mannie Fresh made them hot boyz and big tymers albums classics
he deserves more love

:salute:

I initially had 3-6 mafia ahead of 8ball & mjg but 3-6 kinda had a tendency to make tackhead tracks.

I still have them ahead of 8ball & mjg on my overall group list, but I still give 8ball & mjg the W over them by strictly southern standards.
