People are not gonna like this but the only way to rebuild is to get rid of all the ignorant hoodrats/thugs and ain't shyt blacks in general but it's a no go for some of us because these very people exist in our family.

The War on Drugs. Led to mass incarceration and the prison industrial complex. Millions of men taken out of the neighborhood led to a fatherless generation. Plus you had some men being turned out in prison.

Drugs. Heroin in the 60's and 70's and crack cocaine in the 80's and early 90's.

Welfare. Not as big as a lot of people make it out to be but it definitely played a part.

Feminism. See welfare above.

Free love/abortion/birth control. Sex being so easy to get didn't give a lot of men incentive to marry. Why buy the milk when you can get the milk for free? I'm not a prude or anything but with the availability of birth control and abortion being more readily available people had a reason not to settle down.

Why are y'all mentioning feminism? Feminism hasn't destroyed the white family.

It's redlining, drugs, and mass incarceration, period.

Welfare and "feminism" related issues are just symptoms, of a a disease that hasn't even been cured.

"In essence, the Negro community has been forced into a matriarchal structure which, because it is so out of line with the rest of the American society, seriously retards the progress of the group as a whole, and imposes a crushing burden on the Negro male and, in consequence, on a great many Negro women as well."

- Moynihan Report - The Negro Family, The case for national action.

“For this, most of all, white America must accept responsibility,” Johnson said. Family breakdown “flows from centuries of oppression and persecution of the Negro man. It flows from the long years of degradation and discrimination, which have attacked his dignity and assaulted his ability to produce for his family.”

President LBJ - Speech given at Howard University June 1965
