Perhaps not number 1 but 2,3,4,5 in multiple nations across multiple continents is still impressive.

I still think the Neptunes have taken more of a backseat as opposed to falling off. They could still bring it if they want to, I'm sure of it. But ye, the Neptunes have had hits in multiple genres. I don't really want to count them in this though because they've produced for artists like N'Sync and Britney Spears.

:patrice:Would you call them a Hip Hop production team?

:dwillhuh: shyt this actually has me kinda stumped breh
They started off in hip hop so I guess that's what they are
Just Blaze could do a million more house tracks and he'll still be considered a hip hop producer

I remember ppl being concerned about Premo selling out when word of this collab leaked...but that shyt was dope and straight up new jack :wow:

The album was brilliant, and it silenced the preemo critics who always maintained that he couldnt orchestrate and produce music with mainstream appeal. That album stands as Christina Ag's most critically acclaimed work of her career.

I know Mass Appeal peaked at like 67 on billboard. You know my steel and take it personal were played on the radio as well as DWYCK. Come Clean was a bit of a hit as well. But has really made any impact outside being a hero for NY rap nerds?

Preemo wasnt a pop music minded producer, so Im not sure what the relevancy is here....nobody has ever claimed that preemo was the best to do it, because he made "hits".

I want to say a Nas, Royce, KRS record but the answer to this is gonna be lame.

Only producer for GOAT contention I can think of that's consistently topped the charts is Just Blaze.

:usure:

Dr. Dre has chart toppers in at least two different decades. His own solo hits, Snoop, Eminem, 50, and The Game

Timbaland has chart toppers as well (doesn't have a #1, but multiple Rap records that have hit top 5) with Missy, Jay Z, and 50 Cent

Kanye West with Twista, Ludacris, and his own solo work

The Neptunes as already mentioned
