I was on the block with my brother, some cuzzins and some homies. We just lost my lil cuzzin Bam about a week earlier and was getting ready to go to his funeral.

Like any other child of the 80s I was a big MJ fan. Any other time I would've been fukked up about it, but I just lost my lil nikka, so I was like fukk Michael Jackson that day, and so was everybody else I was with.

I still to this day don't feel hurt about MJ's passing.

Moms sent me a text while I was at work and told me.His whole catalog/videos flashed right before my eyes and I felt bit of sadness thinking about how he accompanied my childhood.

Funniest thing about it, my son, who was about 21 months at the time, became a Michael Jackson fan because of all the news coverage.

He'd walk over to the TV and point at the screen "My'go Jassin".....for the next year, he was Michael Jackson crazy.I had to get him a custom made Thriller jacket and everything.People would trip out watching him do the choreography to Thriller because he'd mastered that shyt.

He's out of that phase now, but you better not say anything bad about Mike around him.That boy'll be at ya neck QUICK

I was in an 80s themed cocktail bar in Camden London with my brother the night before he was returning to NY after visiting.

It was hiphop and some disco shyt being played but then the dj announced the sad news and started dropping some of the nikka's classic tracks

Normally I play the cool guy role at the bar coz we ain't with the happy shyt or dancing with people

I guess it must've been the cocktails but my spirit got caught up in the moment and I had to invade the dancefloor

I was doing a summer program for school. Pretty much a paid internship kind of thing, transitioning from 10th to 11th grade. The day was over with and everyone was chilling with the TV on when the news broke.

I wasn't a big MJ fan before his death. I was home online when I seen the news. It was pretty shocking to say the least because it just was out of nowhere. I remember listening to a bunch of MJ songs afterwards and quickly felt like I discovered some shyt I never knew was there. The funeral for MJ on TV was sad as fukk. I shed so many tears.
