Spin-off of the Oklahoma thread..

Where does the western US start?

Where does "the east" stop being the east.

:jbhmm:

Do regional boundaries differ based on race and racial makeup of a region?

For me one unifying characteristics for Southern states is a large black rural population.

This map is traditionally how we break up each region.

I say the east stops being the east after Ohio. Put a line through all those states between the Ohio/Indiana border.
The Gateway Arch is considered the gateway to the west :manny:

Wouldn’t really call MD/DC and DE the south but other than that, no issues with this pic.

I feel you, but tbh, there’s really no difference between a city like Baltimore from a city like Philly. Some of them nikkas could be considered up north bamas from their slang alone lol.

If it's strictly just east and west, I'd use the Mississippi River. As for north and south I would use the line that runs from Virginia all the way to Nevada. Or the mason-Dixon can be used too.
