The Bay is culturally/ethnically diverse, you got a mix of everything out here where EVERYBODY kick it and party under one groove, for the most part. And yeah, that can look weird to an outsider. I done seen OG white hippie cats in they 60's kickin it gettin lit at bay area functions
But as far as black folks you gotta understand the history and mentality of the hustle n heart in the bay which goes waaaaaaaaaaay back. Sharecroppers that migrated to the bay from the south workin hard on the docks n ports to feed their families. The black power movement/struggle of the 60's n 70's for equal rights. And yeah, the pimp game of having hustle and heart and a cold muthafukkin mouth piece to get ahead. Which a lot of the rappers who grew up in the 70's n 80's used in their music and was/still one of the BIGGEST influences in bay area rap music.....Not hyphy, which originally started out as something completely different but is still part of the bay area culture.
E-40, Too Short, Mac Dre, Master P and everybody beneath them started and prided themselves on an independent hustle in the rap game. Slangin tapes and everything else in between to come up and get money. Do what you gotta to to get yours street mentality of staying true to you and yours, havin heart, and puttin money over b1tches (MOB sh1t).....Playas doin what they want suckas do what they can. Sh1t was instilled in us by our daddies, uncles, older cousins, OG's on the block, etc.
Cold part is that you run into whites, mexicans, asians, others with the same type of "hustle" mentality up in the bay. You can put a bay area cat in Alsaka and bet ya bottom b1tch he sell a eskimo an igloo for a playa's price.
